Imagine a workplace where the CEO is the receptionist. He also doubles up as the salesman, triples up as the driver of the organization, and still serves as the director while remaining the CEO. Picture him running everywhere to get everything done. He is setting himself up for exhaustion and an early burnout. Sooner or later, he is going to break down, and fixing him will be a nearly impossible task to achieve.
Imagine a school where the principal teaches 75% of the subjects from JSS1 to SSS3. Even if he is well-paid, he is heading toward burnout. If he is strong enough to last two weeks of this intense work, both his brain and body will take a severe hit. Why? This is total chaos.
Everything has a designated area or place where it must function, and so does every human.
A pen functions best when it dances across the paper or book. At that moment, it is not afraid to bleed. On the paper or book, it is in its element and can keep writing or drawing until it empties itself in fulfillment. No matter how full the ink of the pen is, it can never serve as a screwdriver. It cannot loosen a nut, no matter how new the pen is, nor can it do that job, no matter how pure its intention is.
Everything is most effective when it operates in its own element. The moment it is taken out of its element, it struggles badly and will repeatedly fail.
Every human has their own element. In the above scenario, the CEO will be most effective in one position that he has mastered. If he remains strong in that role, his energy will be conserved, and he will perform at his best.
Each of us is responsible for finding our element if we want to maximize our potential.
How can we get the best out of ourselves?
1. We cannot be everywhere.
Know this and know peace.
As humans, we have great limitations, and a person who tries to be everywhere will definitely be stuck. In our world today, this is a major cause of burnout. People try to be everywhere, doing everything at once. This leads to low motivation and repeated failures. The more a person fails, the less motivated they become, and the cycle continues. You cannot be everywhere.
2. Find a place for yourself.
What can you do best? Look inward, search yourself, and list your talents in order of ability. Write them down based on how well you can perform in each area. If you sing better than you write, place singing above writing. Do this for all your skills and talents. Once this is done, select the top five. Examine their peculiarities, and choose the domains where you can function best.
3. Specialize.
When you pick the five areas where you excel, look at them critically. Where can you function best? If they complement each other, you can merge two at once. If they are very different, I advise choosing the top two and focusing on them. Develop yourself in these areas and build capacity. If you do this, you will become sought after. People will look for your services because of your expertise.
4. Dream.
In a world where we have become so busy, people forget to dream. Where do you want to be with your specialty? How big do you want to become? Have a vision. Dream of yourself at the mountaintop. See yourself at the zenith of what you have chosen to specialize in. See yourself going all the way. Dare to dream.
5. Focus.
After deciding to specialize, the next thing to do is focus. A person without focus can still be distracted and may try to do too many things at once.
Why Focus?
Focus helps you figure out how to follow through on achieving your goal.
Focus directs your actions toward your vision.
Focus keeps your head in the game and your eyes on the prize.
Focus ensures that no effort is wasted. (A focused person follows through and achieves their goal rather than stopping halfway and wasting previous efforts.)
Focus leads to fulfillment. (When the goal is finally achieved, you feel fulfilled.)
Focus brings transformation.
If you understand these five steps and take action, you are on the path to living the most effective life you can imagine.
The five points are:
1. We cannot be everywhere.
2. Find a place for yourself.
3. Specialize.
4. Dream.
5. Focus.
Like a pen on paper, you will find fulfillment when you work in your true element.
I hope you follow through on these steps.
Have a blessed day.

This message is timely because we are in a generation where people are everywhere. Whatever is hyped on the internet, everybody runs to it. And where does it end? Frustration!
Then you hear them say, "So and so na scam." They begin to discourage genuine effort.
As you have shared this, I hope we'd all learn and grow.
And I love the image used in this piece. It is so conceptual! 🥹🥺😍
